The game's strongest parts are the visuals, music and controls if you ask me. Thankfully they're not required for simply beating the game. The minigames are the most often criticised part of the game and for good reason, they're often boring, frustrating and too time consuming, considering you have to beat them twice to get all the collectibles.
That being said the game is very solid overall and I have lots of nostalgia for it (as my Reddit history would suggest!) A Hero's Tail very much feels like a compilation of tried and tested ideas and themes, and it was rightfully criticised for not really bringing anything new to the table.
